Respond to the novel, Iqbal

Kate
The novel, Iqbal is very interesting and most of it leaves me wondering what is going to happen next. In the novel we are at the part where the children have been freed and Iqbal is helping to free others but the people that live in the town and that own the carpet factories and brick making factories have become very aware that he would be coming to their factory so now when they are in the square people get enraged towards them. The parts of the story when this happens I feel bad for them because they didn’t ask for this life but they got it anyway.

When I read the book Iqbal I felt awful to hear that they were forced to work for a man or woman who they would have to call master or they were punished. They sleep on rock hard beds, only got to go to the bathroom once a day, and got little amounts of food. Another part in the book that made me feel awful was when Iqbal`s master paid of the police so he didn't get thrown in jail for the terrible things he did to the kids, by putting them in a tomb, chain them up to their looms and beat them if they're not cooperating.

The Book Iqbal is astounding because it has made me feel angry.

When I read about children being mistreated by grownups it makes me angry as it’s horrible to see kids in pain at the hands of treating grownups. In my life today I trust adults to be a positive influence to the kids.

The book Iqbal made me feel upset because it’s really sad that people do that to kids but it was also kind of inspiring because Iqbal had the courage to stand up to the people who were keeping kids as slaves.

The novel has made me feel sorry for Iqbal.
One part of the novel has made me feel sorry for the kids is when they have to do all the work they do. This makes me have pity because, they don’t deserve to work that hard. Also, they barely get anything from it.
Another example is the kids are extremely skinny and do not eat a lot. This makes me feel sorry because, the kids are working hard, which would make them hungry. They do not receive proper meals.
I also find the book boring at times.
